Chester Springs ACME Remodel and Revisiting the Vaughan House

ACME, Chester Springs, PA
At this point, the remodel is nearing completion. The vestibule didn't see much change aside from the new signage. I guess they figured the old paneling fit well with the new décor.
One of the more surprising changes was that they took out the first aisle to expand the produce department. Given the amount of work they did on this store, I'm surprised they not only kept the original flooring, but continued the pattern into the new space (you can see the old tile on the right is a little dirtier than the new stuff). Most stores to get this décor get faux wood flooring in Produce, even in remodels not as extensive as this one.
Former Citizens Bank is turning into the new beer café. It looks like they're nearing completion here.
Customer Service was moved from this corner of the store to the area next to checkout. Floral was then moved from the middle of the store over to this spot.
It looks like the new floral department is up and running, but as we'll see in a few photos hasn't completely replaced the original one yet.
Blurry look at the Pharmacy. A little bit of the orange wallpaper from the previous décor is still hiding out in the corner here. I think that white rail just above that was also from the old décor but repainted.
Another awful photo but here's the old floral department, which is surprisingly still up and running.
Looking at the front of the store, they haven't made any changes yet. The only thing they really did was ditch the Sav-On signage and put up a slightly larger ACME sign.
Gordon's Sports Supply, Chester Springs, PA
This store opened in 1978 as what was then a rural outpost of the original Gordon's in Broomall. It was originally only open seasonally (in this case, they mean sports as in hunting and fishing... and disc golf for some reason). In the 80's, this opened full-time and separated operations from the original location.
 Exton RadioShack Guts
I noticed a dumpster outside the Exton RadioShack. It seems like cleaning out fixtures and gutting out the store were taken care of at the same time.
 Future CVS Site, Exton, PA
At this point, just about all the demolition is complete and work is starting on putting in the sewers for CVS.
Work is also starting on patching up the severed section of Winner's Circle. They added a few windows along the side.
 Payless, Exton, PA
One of their two Exton locations. Somehow both this and the mall location across the street survived the 2017 bankruptcy. Unfortunately both are closing as of mid-2019. I believe today is the last day for the mall one, but this will be one of the later ones to close. This one opened in the mid-80's with the center.
 DeSante Salon, Exton, PA
I always thought this was an interesting looking building. I believe the salon is still open for business, although there is a "For Sale" sign out in front of the building.
A Closer Look at the Vaughan House, Lionville, PA
I'm still not 100% sure I have the right name for this building but let's roll with it anyway. I decided I should try getting some pre-remodel photos of this place while I still had the chance.
It would seem they had already started the interior demolition. Either that or this place was in bad shape to start with.
I'm not sure if the bottom floor was apartments or offices. The kitchen certainly looks residential, but the rest of it could just as easily have been office space, especially with that tile ceiling.
Not sure if this was demolition work or of looters got in to steal the wiring.
This room seemed like it was in much better condition than the rest.
This room was in the 1-story addition in back. I realized the door leading to the outside from here was unlocked and I could have gotten in to explore, but I was in a hurry to get somewhere from here that day and unfortunately never made it back before it was already gutted.
