Mostly Demolitions

 WSFS, Edgmont, PA
This opened on the site of a long-abandoned 60's Dairy Queen in 2012. I'm glad this corner had some new life breathed in it, but am still a little annoyed they knocked down the old dairy queen before I could get pictures of it- it was a really unusual sit-down style building.
 CVS, Edgmont, PA
This store was built in 2010 on the site of a garden center. Despite still being fairly new, it was heavily remodeled in 2018. That shouldn't strike me as unusual (8 years sounds about right for a remodel), but it's strange seeing the new logo on this style of store.
 Uno, Edgmont, PA
Alongside CVS, this opened in 2010. Despite living close to the Lionville location all my life I still haven't eaten at Uno yet. As a result, I don't have much commentary for this photo. :/
 ACME, Newtown Square, PA
Believe it or not, this store's been here since 1960. It was one of their first pitched-roof locations, which actually had a wooden frame. The store was expanded and given a new façade in the 70's (which you can see evidence of on the right side of the store), and again to its current size and façade style in the 90's. It's a high-performance store, and is always among the first to get a new décor when it comes out. As you could expect, it has their current décor and has since had a liquor department added.
 Westtown Demolition Progress
At this point, most of the Giant has been pulled down. Only a few exterior walls remain.
The old Rite Aid, on the other hand, still has quite a bit of work left to be done.
 A pile of old Futurestore.
This picture doesn't really show what I wanted it to, but I thought it looked kinda cool so I included it anyway.
The old Eckerd/Rite Aid. Similarly to Giant, it wasn't gutted out prior to demolition either.
Citizen's Bank and the surviving half of the dollar store.
So much rubble. So much sadness.
One of the My Giant decals is still hanging on, barely.
Around back, a zoomed-in look at the Eckerd. I'm amazed the ceiling held together this well as the building comes down around it.
 Dunkin' Donuts, West Chester, PA
This opened in the 80's originally, and was remodeled the this look around 2010. It was again redone in 2017 to what I've been calling the "Latte" look.
 Wawa, West Chester, PA
Wawa moved out of here in 2015. It's still vacant, but I'd imagine it won't be for much longer given the amount of development going on around it.
 Winner's Circle Demolition
This is being done much less cleanly than Westtown. I think that circular thing used to hang from the ceiling in Riverstone.
Metal beams around the main entrance are still hanging on, and are just about the only thing stopping the building guts from spilling out.
The area between the part of the building coming down and the part that's staying is a little more cleared out.
Similarly to Westtown, it doesn't look like they did much salvage here. Everything's just kinda being crushed down.
I think the kitchen would have been in this area, separating the bar from the sit-down portion of the restaurant.
Looking down through the covered walkway. The ceiling has been removed even in the parts they're keeping.
