Neato Building
So a while ago I discovered this one building in Center City, Philadelphia. After asking around on Flickr, I found out it was built as the parking garage for the now-demolished Snellenburg's department store. However, the ground level of the building is and always has been smaller retail storefronts, many of which haven't been significantly altered since the 50's. If anyone is looking for something to do, I'm curious which tenants were in the storefronts. A lot of those facades have to be from chain stores. It's also scheduled to be demolished for East Market Phase II, but that probably won't be for at least another year. It's still about halfway occupied, the remaining tenants are probably just riding out their leases. It's on Chestnut street between 11th and 12th if anybody wants to look into it more. The storefront with green window trim sorta looks like an old Woolworth, but I couldn't find anything. Maybe a Horn & Hardart? T
