Get Fit with PlazaACME!

Image
I'm no health or fitness guru. I noticed I'm somehow in good shape and actually losing weight despite eating ungodly amounts of dining hall food and Starbucks. I'm positive doctors would say whatever I'm doing is wrong and probably bad for me somehow, but if aesthetics are all you care about, here's what worked for me: -I walk everywhere. I try to get at least 20 miles in a week. It's probably the least efficient means of exercising with respect to time, but it's easy on the body and gets you places. I've got every ACME store in downtown Philly photographed as a result of it, so that's a bonus. -Caffeine. I love coffee and tea, and drink a lot more of it than I'm supposed to. Apparently it boosts your metabolism. -Watching the calories. I try to keep my breakfast and lunch under 500 calories, which gives me some wiggle room to pig out and eat 3 cupcakes with dinner. Don't judge. They're arguably the only edible thing the dining hall s...

Neato Building

So a while ago I discovered this one building in Center City, Philadelphia. After asking around on Flickr, I found out it was built as the parking garage for the now-demolished Snellenburg's department store. However, the ground level of the building is and always has been smaller retail storefronts, many of which haven't been significantly altered since the 50's. If anyone is looking for something to do, I'm curious which tenants were in the storefronts. A lot of those facades have to be from chain stores. It's also scheduled to be demolished for East Market Phase II, but that probably won't be for at least another year. It's still about halfway occupied, the remaining tenants are probably just riding out their leases. It's on Chestnut street between 11th and 12th if anybody wants to look into it more.  The storefront with green window trim sorta looks like an old Woolworth, but I couldn't find anything.  Maybe a Horn & Hardart? T...

Nova Nation

Remember a few weeks ago I posted about my March Madness bracket? I just filled out everything based on who I liked vs who I didn't, not based on who was good. I sorta did it as a joke. But Villanova won and now I'm in the 99.5 percentile. That's pretty cool. :) That's Villanova's basketball court. TMYK.
Finals week is upon us, and I had my first of two today. It was calc. Wouldn't say it went perfectly, but I wouldn't say it was awful, either.  I have physics on Thursday, which shouldn't be bad at all. I can get like a 40% and keep my A. But it's also physics. I don't like it. I'm also planning on walking home Friday. It's about 30 miles, which should be fun.

So how are those brackets holding up?

I'm definitely not putting off work here to write this. Definitely not. I called 5 of the 7 games played so far. UPenn and Oklahoma are disappointments, by the way. Not sure if I can link it to this, but here's an attempt to: http://games.espn.com/tournament-challenge-bracket/2018/en/entry?entryID=13252279
I'm majoring in engineering. I hate physics. This might be a problem.
Hey! Out of sheer boredom, I've decided to create my own blog. Don't set your expectations too high. I'm probably gonna post only when I have something to say. Or just get really bored again. Expect memes, rants, insightful commentary, or whatever's going on with me.
